NSF/DHS FODAVA - MSU Foundations of Data and Visual Analytics

It is well known that there is a severe lack of female and under-represented minority students in Computer Science and Mathematical Sciences across USA universities. The PIs are further committed to make efforts to attract minority and female students into the fields of computer visualization, data analysis, mathematical modeling and computation. The PIs have great commitment and passions to contribute to the higher education of underrepresented groups through this project. In addition, the outreach efforts will also target high school students who may be interested in computer visualization, and mathematical modeling. By participating in local high school science activities such as scientific design contests and university open-house activities, the PIs intend to guide these students to the exciting world of computer science and applied mathematics. The project results will be further disseminated to the research community by conference presentations and journal publications.
