Special Mathematics Classes

Fall 2006
- MTH 290-002 (Freshman Seminar). This seminar for one credit will
run both semesters at 4:00 on Tuesdays. It consists of 15 talks by various memebers
of the mathematics department. This seminar will cover BS/BA degrees, Math/TE, Study
Abroad, Actuarial Specializations, Algebra, Analysis, Topology, Geometry, Applied
Math, UBM, Industrial Math, and Mathematics Education.
- MTH 301(Foundations of Higher Mathematics). This course is currently
running as MTH 290-001. The course will cover set theory, logic, proofs, basic algebra,
number theory, functions, cardinality, counting, relations, construction of the
natural numbers, the integers, the rationals, and the reals.
